Coppell Women’s Club General Meeting, Sept. 5 at 10:30 am – Noon at Cozby Library and Community Commons
Come join us as the Coppell Women's Club as they welcome their first speaker of the new club year: Tasnim McCormick Benhalim, Founder & Chief Learning Officer of Diversity Wealth. Tasnim and her team have been working closely with the City of Coppell since 2014. She will share information on the City of Coppell’s new initiative, Allies in Community™, a multi-year project whose mission is to build relationships through common ground, foster a deep sense of belonging in the community, and enhance residents’ active engagement. All are welcome to attend. Refreshments at 10:30 am, program starts at 11 a.m.

Sahaja Yoga Meditation calms the mind with its simple yet unique method that helps one experience that state and reap the benefits, even in this fast-paced life. These guided meditation sessions are presented by DFW Meditation. All ages welcome.

Standardized Study, Sept. 6 at 6 p.m. at Cozby Library and Community Commons
Tired of studying for the ACT or SAT at home or a coffee shop? Join us at Standardized Study, is a self-guided study session geared towards high school students who will soon take the ACT/SAT. Attendees can choose to work independently or with other attendees and will have access to recent ACT and SAT study books. Please note that an ACT/SAT tutor will not be on site.
Short Shorts, Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. at Cozby Library and Community Commons
Who reads short shorts? We do! We will read from a selection of short stories and then briefly discuss them. For adults 18 and older.
Girls Who Code, Sept. 7 at 4:30 p.m. at Cozby Library and Community Commons
Learn to code at the Library! Coding classes through the nationally renowned Girls Who Code program will be held on Fridays from 4:30-5:30 pm through November 16. This program is open to everyone in grades 6–12. Participants must bring their own laptop. Space is limited, so sign-up is required. DIY Raised Bed Garden Sept. 8 at 11 a.m. at Biodiversity Education Center
Join Keep Coppell Beautiful Sept. 8 for a do-it-yourself class and make a raised garden bed to take home. Having a raised garden bed is a terrific way to grow small plots of flowers or vegetables without the clutter of many containers throughout your yard. This type of bed can provide better control of the soil quality and allows for an easy removal of weeds. Registration and pre-payment are required for this class. The Vision 2040 initiative is now moving out into the City of Coppell for wider community engagement. This initiative is a large-scale community visioning project that will ultimately create the Vision 2040 Strategic Plan. As a part of this effort, residents are invited to attend engagement sessions to discuss future preferences for the year 2040, provide input around critical issues facing Coppell and will take the Vision 2040 survey.

Coppell Alumnae Panhellenic Association Salad Social
Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. at 722 Penfolds Lane, Coppell
Coppell Alumnae Panhellenic Association (CAPA) begins its 28th year with its annual Salad Social. All National Panhellenic Conference sorority alumnae are invited to attend and bring a salad to the event on Tuesday, September 11. Recent college graduates are especially encouraged to come. Membership dues will be collected, and collegiate sorority recruitment results will also be discussed. The guest speaker will be Graciela Whitley, DFW Affiliate Director of isupportthegirls.org.

CPR/AED Class Sept. 13 at 6 – 9 p.m. at Life Safety Park
CPR AED is an instructor-led course that teaches adults critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency until medical personnel arrives. Skills covered in this course include first aid, choking relief and what to do for sudden cardiac arrest in adults, children and infants. Please register at LifeSafetyPark.org.
Puppies with a Purpose, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. at Cozby Library and Community Commons
Ever wondered how service dogs are trained? If you want to help make a difference in the life of a person with a disability, meet the puppies of Canine Companions for Independence and their trainers for an information session on volunteer puppy raising!
Friends of Coppell Nature Park Guest Lecture Series – Animal Adventures, Sept. 15 at 10 a.m. – Noon at Biodiversity Education Center at Coppell Nature Park
This interactive program features animals from around the world from the Dallas Zoo, home to over 400 species and more than 2,000 animals. Family-oriented and designed to enhance school curriculum, this program features six to eight educational animals including a variety of birds, mammals and reptiles! Admission is free.

Readers will have the opportunity to talk to people in our community who are willing to share some of their life experiences that have been influenced by their occupation, their ethnicity, their religion/ideology, their social status, or by a disability. Sketch Trek, Sept. 27 - 30 at 9 a.m. at Createria Studios
Develop your sketchbook/journaling practice, habits and skills with a four-day workshop with instructor Janet Takahashi! You'll take your sketchbook everywhere, capture your savored moments in pictures and words and have fun!
Class time includes in the field studies of nature, people and architecture in Old Town, Coppell, TX. Saturday class in the morning will spend in-the-field time at the Farmers Market.
