Dear Comets,

I’m grateful to our Comet community, including the many students who exhibited patience and understanding during the past year as we faced challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Whether new or returning, I look forward to welcoming you back to campus on Aug. 23!

Today I’m reaching out with details about the Comet VIP — Vaccine Incentive Program. Now through Sept. 27, all students who choose to voluntarily participate in Comet VIP will receive $125 direct deposited to their personal account. In addition, randomly selected participants will be eligible for additional incentives that include:

If you’ve already received your COVID-19 vaccination, please log in to the UTD self-report portal and submit your information.

Need to be vaccinated? We will be holding three clinics: Aug. 22 and 25 and Sept. 15. Watch your UTD email for more details and for clinic locations and times.

The $125 will be disbursed beginning Aug. 27 and will continue through Sept. 27. The additional incentives will be awarded beginning Aug. 30. For more information about Comet VIP, please email dos@utdallas.edu.

Data suggests vaccination remains the best intervention for reliable protection against COVID-19. If you’ve already been vaccinated, thank you! I’m looking forward to an amazing fall semester. Go Comets!
