• Ruthie's community resource center opens in downtown Corpus Christi, Texas (kristv.com) — A new nonprofit called Ruthie's has opened at 417 South Upper Broadway, offering free food, clothing, showers, and other support to anyone in Corpus Christi who needs help. Open Sundays from 1–5 p.m., the center focuses on dignity and advocacy for people facing poverty or houselessness across the Coastal Bend.
• Managing Growth Under Water Constraints: What Utilities Can Learn From Industrial Water Users (wateronline.com) — Corpus Christi recently came close to declaring a Level 1 Water Emergency that would have forced major cutbacks for industrial users, highlighting how tight local supplies can get. • Proposed USS City of Corpus Christi memorial could bring submarine's remains to Sherrill Veterans Memorial Park (kiiitv.com) — Submarine veterans are working with the city to bring remains of the decommissioned USS City of Corpus Christi to Sherrill Veterans Memorial Park as part of Phase 2 of the park's master plan. With $500,000 pledged and about $2 million still needed, architects are already drafting designs for a memorial that would honor the sub's service and educate future generations here.
