• Del Mar College baking student wins Golden Ticket to World Food Championships in Indianapolis (kristv.com) — A Del Mar College baking student from Corpus Christi has earned a coveted Golden Ticket to the World Food Championships after winning the dessert category at the Texas Food Championship held at Water's Edge Park. The event drew about 150 competitors, showcased multiple DMC student teams, and even awarded local high schoolers scholarships to Del Mar's culinary and hospitality programs.
• Corpus Christi restaurant earns spot at World Food Championships with honey butter chicken biscuit (kristv.com) — A downtown Corpus Christi favorite, Streat Corner Kitchen, just cooked its way into the World Food Championships with a towering 12-layer honey butter chicken biscuit. Before the team heads to Indianapolis, locals can taste the competition dish at a special October 12 dinner and even help sponsor the restaurant's trip as they represent Corpus Christi nationally.
