$3M Investment: Paulding Schools to Offer College, Career Academy
The Paulding County School District has received a $3 million grant to create the Paulding College and Career Academy.

The Paulding County School District has received a $3 million grant to create the Paulding College and Career Academy. PCCA will be a specialized program geared at helping students decide their career paths after graduation.
The $3 million will be used to renovate labs and classrooms and update technology at New Hope Education Center, which is where the Academy will be located.
“We believe the Paulding College and Career Academy will help us achieve our vision of preparing all students for success today and tomorrow," said Dr. Brian Otott, superintendent of the Paulding County School District. "This is an excellent opportunity for the students of Paulding County.”

Paulding College and Career Academy is on target to open in August 2019. It will serve students in grades nine through 12 and offer career pathways in health care; energy; advanced manufacturing and industrial maintenance; and cybersecurity. Those areas have been identified as "high need" employment areas in Paulding County and statewide.
The Academy’s mission is to "engage our community to inspire greatness in our students and prepare them for the future needs of our workforce,” the release stated.
