All 18 Harmony North Texas Campuses Earn National STEM Recognition

All 18 campuses in the Harmony Public Schools–North Texas district have earned national STEM recognition from Project Lead The Way, with the district named a 2026 PLTW Distinguished District.

The honor places Harmony Public Schools–North Texas among just 32 districts nationwide to earn the designation out of 3,554 districts using PLTW programs. In Texas, six district-level recipients were recognized, including five Harmony Public Schools districts, according to PLTW’s official recognition listing.

Project Lead The Way is a national nonprofit organization that provides hands-on STEM curriculum in engineering, computer science, biomedical science and career readiness. Its Distinguished District designation recognizes school systems that expand student access, participation and achievement in STEM learning from elementary through high school.

“Being named a 2026 PLTW Distinguished District is an incredible honor for Harmony Public Schools–North Texas, as it reflects our commitment to expanding student access to high-quality STEM learning experiences,” said Harun Karan, area superintendent for Harmony Public Schools–North Texas. “Through our partnership with Project Lead The Way, students across our campuses are gaining the real-world knowledge, technical skills and confidence needed to thrive beyond the classroom.”

Harmony Public Schools–North Texas integrates STEM education through project-based learning, collaborative instruction and career-focused coursework designed to help students build critical thinking, problem-solving and technical skills.

• Harmony Science Academy – Garland

• Harmony Science Academy – Plano
• Harmony Science Academy – Waco
• Harmony School of Innovation – Carrollton
• Harmony School of Innovation – Euless
• Harmony School of Innovation – Grand Prairie

The following campuses were recognized as 2026 PLTW Distinguished High Schools:

The designation highlights schools and districts that provide students with meaningful opportunities to engage in real-world STEM learning and prepare for future college and career pathways.
