The symposium will be held on Saturday, May 9, from 10 a.m. to noon at the State Fair of Texas, Briscoe Carpenter Livestock Center, 1403 Washington St.

Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. for light breakfast and refreshments. RSVP at this link. All Dallas residents are encouraged to attend.

The event will kick of with remarks from Dallas Police Chief Daniel C. Comeaux. After that, public safety leaders will present an overview of how 911 and 311 calls are processed, how resources are deployed, and how technology can improve response times.

Attendees will also gain insight into the roles of crisis intervention, emergency management, and specialized teams dedicated to serving the Dallas community.

During a Q&A session, residents will have the opportunity to ask questions, share feedback, and engage directly with public safety leaders on topics discussed throughout the event, helping to inform a safer and more responsive Dallas.

"Open communication is essential for a safer Dallas," said Police Monitor Michele Andre. "This symposium is about listening to the community, answering questions, and building trust. We welcome everyone to join us, share their perspectives, and help strengthen public safety in our city."
