Four Dallas Area Residents Charged in Methamphetamine Trafficking Conspiracy

The United States Attorney's Office of the Northern District of Texas announced the arrest of four suspected Dallas area gang members charged in a federal methamphetamine trafficking conspiracy.

The U.S. Attorney's Office released a press release with details about the charges on Tuesday, April 21. According to the release, the men arrested are Ventrous Deshun James, Joseph Lewis Morgan, Dionyuta Henry, and David Beaty. They were charged by federal complaint with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine on April 14.

The complaint alleges that law enforcement agents initiated a joint investigation into the "007 Bonton Bloods" criminal street gang in October. As part of the investigation, agents searched multiple residences in Seagoville.

During those searches, officers located significant quantities of controlled substances and evidence of drug trafficking activity, including approximately 22.7 pounds of methamphetamine, 4.6 pounds of methamphetamine tablets, 1.6 pounds of cocaine, 77.9 pounds of marijuana, and 52.2 grams of marijuana wax.

Agents also seized more than $61,000 in U.S. currency, along with additional narcotics trafficking paraphernalia. The complaint alleges that agents recovered more than 25 firearms, including three equipped with machine gun conversion devices (known as "switches"), which convert semi-automatic pistols into fully automatic weapons.

If convicted, each defendant faces a statutory maximum penalty of up to 40 years in federal prison. The defendants remain in custody pending further court proceedings.

The Dallas Police Department Special Investigation Division and Gang Unit, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms Group VII, and the FBI Safe Streets Violent Gang Task Force, Dallas Division investigated the case.
