Another round of scattered thunderstorms could be headed for North Texas on Wednesday.
The National Weather Service Fort Worth/Dallas issued a bulletin about the potential storm activity on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the alert, scattered thunderstorms, a few strong to severe, are possible Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday evening. The activity is expected along and ahead of a cold front as it moves south into Central Texas.
While most storms should remain moderate in nature, a few could become severe with the primary hazards being large hail and damaging winds.
Residents should have multiple ways of receiving weather alerts (phone apps, TV, weather radio, etc.), plan ahead, and be off the roadways when severe storms move into their area.
After this brief cool down, temperatures will rebound well into the 80s heading into this upcoming weekend. It could even reach 90 degrees in Dallas/Fort Worth on Sunday.
There will be low chances for afternoon and evening showers and storms each day Thursday through Saturday, with the greatest rain potential expected across Central Texas.
The next storm system to approach the area will be on Sunday, with more scattered thunderstorms possible in the afternoon and evening.
Given the warm and unstable airmass in place, the NWS will continue to monitor for the potential of a couple of strong to severe thunderstorms over this time frame.
The greatest chances for strong to severe storms will likely be on Sunday when stronger forcing arrives with the next storm system.
