The North Texas area could see scattered to widespread showers and thunderstorms on Thursday.
The National Weather Service Fort Worth/Dallas issued a bulletin about the forecast on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the bulletin, the storms are expected to move east to northwest across North and Central Texas during the day on Thursday.
Localized heavy rainfall may lead to an isolated flash flooding threat, especially in the afternoon and evening between 1-8 p.m.
Most locations will see .5-1.5" of rainfall through the night, but a few locations may pick up 2-3" of rain or more.
This is the start of daily chances for showers and storms each day through the weekend. Locally heavy rain is possible as well as a low threat for strong or severe storms in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex; Sherman and Denison; Waco, Temple, and Killeen; and Palestine.
Residents that encounter flooded roadways should remember the slogan, "Turn Around, Don't Drown."
