Flood Threat in North Texas Overnight and Into Wednesday

A broken line of showers and storms will move through the North Texas region Tuesday evening and into Wednesday.

The National Weather Service Forth Worth/Dallas issued a bulletin about the forecast on Tuesday afternoon. According to the alert, some of the storms could become strong with gusty winds, small hail, and heavy rain being the main threats.

The overall severe threat should remain low, but the NWS cannot rule out an isolated severe wind gust where segments of the line bow out.

Additionally, the flooding threat will increase tonight into Wednesday, especially in areas that have already received heavy rain this weekend. Residents should remain weather aware.

As we move into the week, daily storm chances will continue. However, not every area will see rain every day. The NWS expects a threat for flooding where storms repeat or move slowly.

Overall, the severe weather threat remains low, but a few stronger storms will be possible with gusty winds, small hail, and frequent lightning.
