The North Texas region can look forward to yet another weekend of storm chances.
The National Weather Service Fort Worth/Dallas issued a bulletin about the forecast on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the forecast, residents can expect near normal temperatures and a slight chance of storms Wednesday evening through Thursday.
The best storm chances will be across Central Texas on Wednesday and East Texas on Thursday. Severe weather is unlikely, but we could see a few strong storms with gusty winds, frequent lightning, small hail, and brief heavy rain.
This weekend, the NWS expects rain and storm chances both days. Not every area will get rain each day, and the severe weather threat overall is low. However, a few strong storms with gusty winds and brief heavy rain may still occur.
In a Tuesday social media post, the NWS attributed this activity to a slow moving upper low spreading out of northern Mexico.
As we move into next week, the North Texas region is expected to warm up as low pressure moves out and high pressure develops overhead.
The Texas A&M Forest Service's Current Wildfire Preparedness Level is 2. On Tuesday, the service received two requests for assistance on wildfires burning 34.6 acres.
