The City of Dallas kicked off Pride Month this week by hosting the 2026 Pride in Excellence Awards Reception to honor local LGBTQ leaders.
The city discussed the event in a Thursday press release. According to the release, the event honored LGBTQ leaders who have demonstrated outstanding commitment and achievement across business, civic engagement, public service, arts and culture, and philanthropy.
Dallas City Council members Chad West and Laura Cadena both delivered remarks at the event, highlighting the vital contributions of the honorees in fostering a more inclusive and welcoming city.
Each year, the Pride in Excellence Awards recognizes Dallas residents who embody the core value of service and innovation by leveraging their platforms to create meaningful, lasting change for the LGBTQ community.
"This year's recipients represent a diverse group of advocates, professionals, and community leaders whose collective impact continues to strengthen the vibrancy of Dallas," the press release states.
