Investigators believe the victim was shot after confronting people near his SUV during a suspected catalytic converter theft, and more details are expected as the case moves forward.
5. AU's Kelli Shomaker to retire after 10 years, Woodard and Elmore to act as interims (theplainsman.com) — Southern Methodist University in Dallas is bringing in veteran higher-education finance leader Kelli Shomaker as its new senior vice president for business and finance and chief financial officer on November 1. She'll arrive with decades of experience from Auburn, Texas A&M, and other institutions, and says she's excited to return to Texas and make Dallas home as SMU prepares for its next phase of growth.
