Jilek offers, "Social Security Claiming and Retirement Income: Make Informed Choices for the Years Ahead." He covers how claiming at 62, full retirement age or later can affect monthly benefits, how spouses can coordinate decisions, and what survivor and divorced-spouse rules may mean for a household. He is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Social Security Administration.

He speaks in person in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and virtually nationwide. Groups pay $0 to book, including fees, honorariums and mileage.

"Many of the groups we work with have members getting close to retirement," said Ginny Richardson, founder of Free Speakers. "A talk on when to claim Social Security gives them something concrete to act on."

Groups can request Jilek on the Speakers Bureau website: dallas-fort-worth.freespeakers.org/author/kenjilek/.

Free Speakers Dallas-Fort Worth is part of FreeSpeakers.org, a pro bono speakers bureau serving seven U.S. cities. It is a community resource for chambers of commerce, libraries, senior clubs, and other groups with limited or no budgets. The speakers bureau features a wide variety of guest speakers who provide their services at no cost, furthering the mission of community education and civic engagement.
