Here are the top stories in Dallas today:
- A 16-apartment complex in northeast Dallas caught fire over the weekend, leaving multiple units badly damaged and one resident and his dog dead. Dallas Fire-Rescue units responded to a roof fire at the Eleven-600 Apartments on Audelia Road shortly after 4 a.m. yesterday. Firefighters worked quickly to evacuate residents and contain the fire, and apartment management is working with the American Red Cross to determine the needs of the residents who might be displaced. - The participation deadline is approaching quickly for Dallas's 2021 Virtual Art Mart. The virtual Art Mart is an online showcase of North Texas visual artists that provides information about the artists, photographs of their art, and links to their websites and/or social media accounts to prospective buyers. Artists who wish to join should email communications@friendsofthebathhouse.org expressing their interest by Nov. 14. Online submission of materials for the showcase will be due by Nov. 21. - Two men were injured in a Dallas stabbing incident early Sunday morning. When officers arrived at the 2200 block of Northwest Highway, they found a male victim with a stab wound to the stomach and a second male victim with a laceration to his finger. A suspect is currently in police custody. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)
- The Trains at NorthPark, a beloved local holiday tradition, returns to NorthPark Center from Nov. 13 through Jan. 2. Proceeds will benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas (RMHD). (North Texas e-News)
- Dallas College is offering COVID-19 vaccination clinics at all seven of its campus location, including a newly-opened drive-thru clinic hosted by the Dallas County Health and Human Services at the Eastfield Campus. No appointment is necessary and clinics will be offered at most campuses now through Nov. 15. The Eastfield Campus drive-thru clinic will be open Tuesdays through Saturdays until March 2022.
