Here are the top three stories today in Dallas:

  1. Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson has opened registration for the annual Mayor's Back to School Fair. The fair provides families with essential school supplies and a number of valuable services. The fair will be on Friday, Aug. 5 at Fair Park with multiple mascots in attendance. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)
  2. Dallas' Podcast Movement annual conference will have a special guest speaker: Mark Cuban. The conference will be held from Aug. 23 through Aug. 26. Cuban will not be the only guest speaker, however; Phoebe Judge and Nishat Kurwa will also be in attendance. Cuban called podcasting "old, tired, and beat up" during last year's conference - it will be interesting to hear his thoughts this year. (The Dallas Morning News)
  3. The Dallas Police Department has arrested a second individual in the death of a 5-year-old child. Ulysses Kizzee, 74, was arrested and charged with causing serious bodily injury to a child by omission. It is unclear how Kizzee is related to the child but previous records indicate that Kizzee has been dating the mother Tiffany Williams, 26, for the last nine years. (FOX 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth)
