Here are the top 3 stories in Dallas today:

  1. The Sports Business Journal on Monday declared Dallas as the first city to hold the title of "best city for sports business," just beating out New York City in the new annual ranking. "The top five were bundled pretty close together so you may see some movement a year from now," said Derick Moss, the senior market analyst at SBJ. Austin, San Antonio, and Houston also made the list, at positions 23, 27, and 29, respectively. (Dallas Morning News)
  2. A Saturday night vigil in the 7400 block of South Westmoreland Road, where a fatal shooting happened the day before, was interrupted when a passenger in a passing car opened fire upon the crowd, ultimately injuring four. It was the fourth mass shooting in Dallas this year. Police are working to determine if the two incidents are related. (Dallas Morning News)
  3. Disney fans in Dallas are in for a treat when the "Disney Animation: Immersive Experience" debuts at Lighthouse ArtSpace Dallas next month. It's from the same team that brought the "Immersive Van Gogh" exhibit to cities around the world, including a highly successful run here in Dallas. "Just imagine journeying through Zootopia with Judy Hopps, diving to the ocean floor with Ariel, flying on a magic carpet with Aladdin, and stepping into Casita with Mirabel and the family Madrigal," said Lighthouse Immersive's founder, Corey Ross. "This is where the "Disney Animation: Immersive Experience' will take you." (CultureMap Dallas)
