Each month, Galleria Dallas partners with a local or national charity to shine a spotlight on its work with a Gallery Wall. September’s charity partner is Grant Halliburton Foundation, a Dallas-based nonprofit that works to strengthen the network of mental health resources for children, teens and young adults, promote better mental health and prevent suicide. The installation marks the foundation’s 20th anniversary, sharing a message of hope during National Suicide Prevention Month.
On Saturday, Sept. 12, from noon to 2 p.m., Grant Halliburton Foundation staff members will be on-site to host “Hope in Every Color,” a hands-on art activity for children and families, on Level 3 near the Play Place. Children will explore how colors, lines and shapes can express feelings and work on coloring pages inspired by Grant Halliburton’s artwork.
Drawing inspiration from the artwork featured in “Journey,” the program gives families another way to experience Grant’s creativity. Older children may also respond to reflection prompts such as “Hope feels like…” and “Someone I can talk to is….” Families can participate at their own pace, learn more about Grant Halliburton Foundation and pick up complimentary Grant Halliburton Foundation items.
