Here are the top stories in Dallas today:
- Dallas police officers chased a stolen car suspect through the streets and highways of the city Tuesday morning, Oct. 19. During the chase, the suspect abandoned the initial stolen vehicle and took two more vehicles. The chase ended without any injuries. (CBS Dallas / Fort Worth)
- Dallas-based Jennifer Bickel Cook, a long-time assistant to Mary Kay Ash, wrote a book called Pass It On: What I Learned from Mary Kay Ash, which was published on October 5 by Brown Books Publishing Group. In response, Mary Kay filed a lawsuit with a series of allegations against Cook and a demand that the book no longer be sold. (CultureMap Dallas)
- The city of Dallas' Office of Emergency Management stepped up to cover the costs of hotel rooms for some of the 200 residents displaced by last month's explosion. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)
- Another sign that Dallas is crawling back to normal: a whole new slew of shops and eateries are opening at Mockingbird Station, including everything from sneakers to golf gear to burgers to sushi. (CultureMap Dallas)
