Here are the top three stories today in Dallas:
- Comedian Chris Rock has decided to extend his Ego Death World Tour while adding a stop at The Pavilion. Rock has an extensive career as a comedian and film star but has been in the media spotlight since this year's Oscars. Tickets for his Dallas area show will go on sale today. (CultureMap Dallas)
- Dallas' Planning Commission has approved the four-acre high-rise project on Knox Street. The project will build luxury residential units, a boutique hotel, retail space, office space, and new park east of Highland Park. The commission needed to approve additional height and density for the project's property location. (The Dallas Morning News)
- A Dallas gunman evaded arrest after a five-hour standoff at an apartment building near Fitzhugh Boulevard and Gaston Avenue. The stand-off followed a nearby gas station shooting where a man suffered non-life-threatening injuries. SWAT officers surrounded the building but the suspect somehow evaded the officers. The department has assured the public that they have identified the gunman. (FOX 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth)
