Mesquite, Texas - The City of Mesquite, in collaboration with the Mesquite Independent School District and the City of Balch Springs, has initiated Project LEAD. This program is aimed at fostering leadership qualities among local residents.

Project LEAD's primary objective is to attract residents who have a keen interest in imbibing leadership values, refining their civic engagement skills, and contributing to the progression of their cities and the school district. The overarching goal is to inspire citizens to play a proactive role in nurturing their local communities and educational institutions.

Mesquite City Manager, Cliff Keheley, emphasized the importance of resident involvement, stating, “The health of our communities and schools depends on residents being informed and engaged.” He added that Project LEAD offers an opportunity for participants to "develop personal leadership skills as well as build connections with civic leaders.”
