The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Dallas.

Hey, neighbors. It's me, Nicole Fallon-Peek, your host of the Dallas Daily — here to tell you all the most important things happening locally. Let's have at it...
First, today's weather:
A thundershower in spots. High: 96 Low: 77.
📢 I'm looking for business owners and marketers in Dallas who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.
I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our Dallas Daily readers to local businesses they need to know about. If that's you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.
Here are the top three stories in Dallas today:
- The City of Dallas is continuing to combat the emerald ash borer. The invasive wood-boring beetle is responsible for the slow death of millions of the country's ash trees. The city is ahead of the curve when it comes to protecting its ash tree population from the invasive species. By the time a tree shows signs of the species, it is already too late. (The Dallas Morning News)
- A new report by Point2 indicates that Dallas is one of the most expensive locations to lease office space in the U.S. The city is ranked as the 10th most expensive location in the country. According to the report, premium office space leases for $38 a square foot in Dallas. The list has London, United Kingdom, as the most expensive location globally for office space. Globally, Dallas ranks 32nd. (CW33 Dallas)
- The City of Dallas has approved a new ordinance that places the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center Dallas proposition on the Nov. 8 ballot. The proposition asks voters if the center should be expanded. If approved, the city's hotel occupancy tax will likely be raised by 2 percent. (WBAP News/Talk)
