Most city offices, including City Hall, will be closed Nov. 28-29 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Emergency services will be available as usual.

Solid waste services

There will be no garbage service on Thanksgiving Day. If your normal garbage pickup day is on Thursday, your pickup will be shifted to Friday; Friday service slides to Saturday. Normal pickup schedules resume the following Monday. All residents are allowed two extra bags of garbage next to the cart on their first pickup day following Thanksgiving.

The city’s four drop-off stations and the Environmental Collection Center will be closed Nov. 28-29 and reopen Nov. 30.

Animal services

The Fort Worth Animal Shelter, 4900 Martin St., will be closed Nov. 28-29. PetSmart Adoption Centers will be closed Nov. 28 and reopen on Nov. 29.

Libraries

All libraries will be closed Nov. 28-29. Regular hours resume Nov. 30.

Park and recreation programs

All 21 community centers will close at 6 p.m. Nov. 27. On Nov. 28, all community centers, Haws Athletic Center, Fort Worth at 6 programs, Log Cabin Village, Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge and McLeland Tennis Center will be closed. The water features at the Water Gardens will be turned off. The Botanic Garden grounds will be open, but the Botanic Garden booking office and garden center will be closed. The Pecan Valley Golf Course’s River course will be open until 3 p.m., but other municipal golf courses will be closed.

On Nov. 29, all community centers will be closed. Haws Athletic Center, Fort Worth at 6 programs and the Log Cabin Village will be closed. The Botanic Garden booking office will be closed, but the Botanic Garden grounds will be open. The Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge, McLeland Tennis Center, Water Gardens and municipal golf courses will be open.

Transportation

On Nov. 28, there will be no Trinity Railway Express train service; TEXRail and The Dash will run on a regular schedule. Trinity Metro bus and Access paratransit services will run on a Sunday schedule. On Nov. 29, TEXRail and The Dash will run on regular schedules; Trinity Railway Express will run on a Sunday schedule.
