Fort Worth Fire Chief James Davis and District 2 Councilmember Carlos Flores were named to the Metropolitan Area EMS Authority (MedStar) board of directors.

Other members: Dr. Janice Knebl, chairman; Matt Aiken, vice-chairman; Saginaw Fire Chief Doug Spears, secretary; and members Susan Alanis, Tarrant County College; Dr. Chris Bolton, Baylor Scott & White Health System; Dr. Brad Commons, Texas Health Resources; Teneisha Kennard, JPS Health System; Ken Simpson, MedStar interim CEO (ex-officio); and Dr. Veer Vithalani, MedStar chief medical officer and EMS system medical director (ex-officio).
The 11-member Metropolitan Area EMS Authority board includes nine voting members (four members representing the City of Fort Worth, one member representing the suburban member jurisdictions, two physician representatives of the Emergency Physicians Advisory Board, the Fort Worth fire chief and an additional representative of the First Responder Advisory Board). The system medical director and the EMS Authority’s CEO serve as ex-officio (non-voting) members.
