Public properties are on a 14-day mowing cycle during the peak growing season and a 21-day mowing cycle during the off-peak growing season.

Due to above normal rainfall in May and staffing shortages, mowing cycles have been delayed by one to three weeks, and both staff and contractors are working to catch up. This includes the use of “hot spot” contractors and staff overtime.

In addition, the heavy rainfall combined with higher temperatures resulted in taller vegetative conditions in between mowings, increasing the time needed to complete a mowing. Barring additional heavy rains, city staff anticipates that mowing cycles will be caught up by early to mid-July.

Residents can report high grass and weeds via the MyFW app. Select the High Grass-Public Property option for areas such as parks, traffic dividers, right-of-ways, corner clips and roundabouts. Select the High Grass-Private Property option for other sites.

Residents may also contact the city Call Center by email or at 817-392-1234.
