Fort Worth ISD leaders and partners came together last week for a signing ceremony that commits to a collaboration shaping the future of Fort Worth. The Industry Partner Signing Day celebrated business partners who currently provide, or will provide, work-based experiences for students through the District’s P-Tech and Vital Link programs.

Fort Worth ISD Superintendent Kent P. Scribner and other district leaders took a few moments to explain how these partnerships will set a path forward for both students and employers.

After remarks, dozens of representatives of each partner organization stepped forward to sign an oversized banner – depicting the Fort Worth ISD tree logo – that included a pledge to work together, “to prepare all students for success in college, career and community leadership.”
Pathways in Technology Early College High School, known as P-Tech, provides students valuable work experience in a growing field that interests them. P-Tech students can earn a high school diploma, an industry-recognized certification and an associate degree. P-Tech students leave the program ready to continue college, pursue a successful career and contribute to their community.
Vital Link’s mission is “connecting students to careers.” The program began more than 30 years ago as a one-week summer job shadowing program. Today Vital Link includes an array of engagement opportunities for all FWISD students in elementary and secondary grades.
