This Building & Brews event will focus on the Romantic Era in architecture (1860-1880). America’s industrial revolution during this period changed the way craftsmen built houses. Balloon framing, new molding manufacturing and cut nails enabled builders to build in new ways.

New Romantic architectural styles took hold in this period, too: Italianate, Second Empire and Gothic Revival. These styles were more ornamental and challenging to build. During this lecture, learn how craftsmen did it.
