Mattie Parker received more than 53% of the vote in Saturday’s runoff election and will be Fort Worth’s 45th mayor.

Parker will be sworn in at the 7 p.m. City Council meeting on June 15. The ceremony will take place at the Fort Worth Convention Center, 1201 Houston St., and will be carried live on FWTVFacebook and the city’s website. 

City Council candidates who won their runoff races on Saturday include Jared Williams, District 6; Leonard Firestone, District 7; Chris Nettles, District 8; and Elizabeth M. Beck, District 9.

They join councilmembers Carlos Flores, Michael Crain, Cary Moon and Gyna Bivens, who were sworn into office on May 11.

“We look forward to working with our new mayor and city councilmembers to address the challenges that face our community,” said City Manager David Cooke. “As the 12th largest city, we will continue to work with residents, elected officials and staff to find opportunities for improvement and make sure we are providing quality services and programs to every neighborhood in Fort Worth.”
