City Of Fort Worth: Learn About The Role Of Fort Worth Marshals

Fort Worth Municipal Court is celebrating Municipal Courts Week Nov. 1-5 at the A.D. Marshall Public Safety Building, 1000 Throckmorton St. Municipal Courts Week is dedicated to appreciating the contributions that Texas municipal courts make to the safety and wellbeing of communities. Today, the spotlight is on the City Marshal Division.

The Fort Worth Marshal Division is the enforcement arm of the Fort Worth Municipal Court. Currently, there are 42 deputy marshals assigned to the division.

The Marshal Division includes three sections: Warrant Section, Building Security Section and Lake Patrol:

Philip J. Swift serves as the city marshal for the Fort Worth Municipal Court. Swift is a graduate of Walden University with a Ph.D. in forensic psychology and is a 23-year law enforcement veteran, published author and national lecturer.

“The deputy marshals of the Fort Worth Marshal Division represent some of the finest law enforcement officers in the state of Texas,” Swift said. “Their level of professionalism is only matched by their dedications to people and employees of Fort Worth.”
