The Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of the Urban Land Institute is hosting a breakfast forum from 7:30-9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, that will explore how Fort Worth is taking advantage of its rapid growth to ensure that all aspects of the city are operating at full strength to better compete on the national stage for businesses, jobs and talent.

The program, “Old Problems, New Tricks: Revitalizating Our Booming City,” will feature a dynamic discussion around the revitalization of Fort Worth from local and national industry leaders. The in-person event will take place at the Fort Worth Club, but the program will be also broadcast online.
Attendees can expect to hear a preview of Fort Worth’s new revitalization strategy, and how residents, developers, and small businesses can get involved and learn more about these untapped areas of opportunity. This will also involve a larger discussion around national trends, placemaking initiatives, and the impact of successful revitalization efforts in other communities.

Panel participants include Dionne Baux, director of urban programs for Main Street America; Aaron Farmer, president of The Retail Coach; and Robert Sturns, the city’s director of economic development. The panel will be moderated by Courtney Garner Lewis, senior vice president of Middle Market Banking. Closing remarks will be given by Mayor Mattie Parker.

Tickets are $45 for ULI members, $60 for non-members, and $30 for student members. Registration and networking will kick off from 7:30-8 a.m., with announcements and a plated breakfast scheduled from 8-8:15 a.m. The panel discussion will begin at 8:15 a.m.
