City Of Fort Worth: Two Public Meetings Scheduled To Discuss T&P Passage Project

Join one of two virtual meetings to discuss design concepts and provide feedback on the Lancaster Avenue T&P Passage project.

In October 2019, after formalizing agreements with the City of Fort Worth, Downtown Fort Worth Inc. released a request for proposals for landscape design-build services for the T&P Passage at 221 W. Lancaster Ave. A selection panel of downtown residents, city staff and Downtown Design Review Board members selected the Fain Group and Kimley-Horn for landscape design, engineering and construction services for the T&P Pedestrian Passage.

Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone District 8 allocated $1.75 million for public improvements to the city easement and the Trinity Metro tunnel between Lancaster Avenue and the Fort Worth T&P Station train platform. These improvements will serve TRE and TEXRail riders accessing the T&P station from downtown and Lancaster Avenue.

Today, there is no formal entry from Lancaster Avenue to the T&P Station. This project will improve the public realm and make for safe and elegant wayfinding. In addition, this project will make access from Lancaster Avenue to the train platform behind the historic T&P building more straightforward and more prominent. It will also make the approach to downtown from the train a more formal experience, reflective of the landmark T&P Terminal Building’s grandeur and befitting a passenger’s arrival into one of America’s great center cities.
