Here are the top three stories in Dallas today:

  1. The Dallas City Council has approved a raise for the city manager. The approval was somewhat of a surprise due to tensions between the city manager, the City Council, and the mayor. Mayor Eric Johnson and 4 council members voted against T.C. Broadnax's raise. (WFAA.com)
  2. Walmart has started deploying its new Canoo vans in the Dallas area. The vehicles will be delivering groceries to participating Walmart+ in-home service customers. The vehicles will be tested in Dallas before making a nationwide impact in 2023. The pod-like vehicles are reportedly pivotal in helping Walmart achieve its zero-emission goals by 2040. (The Business Journals)
  3. The recent record-breaking rainfall has reportedly helped the Dallas area's drought conditions. Dallas County is no longer under "extreme" drought conditions. The entire county was under the category before the rain - now 0 percent remains. Click for a full breakdown of Texas counties' drought conditions. (WFAA)
