  1. The Conservative Political Action Conference is set to return to Dallas from Aug. 4 through Aug. 6. The conference's keynote speaker will be former President Donald Trump. This is the second year in a row that the important political event has been held in Dallas. There will be thousands of conservatives in attendance. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)
  2. The Dallas County Jail has an inmate being tested for a possible case of Monkeypox. The Sherriff's Office reports that the jail is currently following protocols as a precautionary measure. The county's Health and Human Services Department has reported 14 cases of the rare virus as of Tuesday. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)
  3. The Fort Worth Police Department has placed a detective on restricted duty pending an investigation into a burglary incident that occurred on Jul. 8. According to the department, detective Bryan Lafaurie forced entry into a teenager's home to confront individuals he suspected of stealing his personal property. Lafaurie has been "stripped of all police powers" according to the department's press release. (CBS Dallas)
