Here are the top three stories in Dallas today:

  1. Dallas County has declared a health emergency. The declaration is related to the continuing spread of Monkeypox through the North Texas area. The declaration is meant as a warning to the community. As of Thursday, the county has had 265 cases of Monkeypox. The declaration will also allow the county to allocate more resources to combat Monkeypox. (Patch)
  2. The Dallas Police Department is searching for an individual who stole musical equipment from a church on Colorado Boulevard. The Iglesia Gracia Divina church reports that the equipment was worth almost $8,000. The individual stole the equipment after breaking through a church window. Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to contact the department. (CBS Dallas)
  3. The Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives has named the Dallas Regional Chamber its national chamber of the year. The award is distributed based on chamber size. The Dallas Regional Chamber was designated in the largest size category available. Chamber officials said that relationships are the key to its success. (The Dallas Morning News)
