Here are the top two stories in Dallas today:

  1. The Dallas PD is pushing for strip clubs and other sex-businesses to close at 2 a.m. in order to curb crime. They reported high crime rates in Northwest Dallas, where 39% of the licensed sexually oriented businesses are located and saw nearly 550 aggravated assaults around the sex-businesses last year. As of right now, Dallas has no rules in terms of operational hours for sexually oriented businesses. (KERA News)
  2. Almost 200 Dallas police and fire workers have had to quarantine themselves after testing positive for COVID-19 over the holiday break. More than 3/4 of those infected are first responders. The city of Dallas started mandating testing in August after cases began to increase again. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)
  3. On Tuesday morning, a Silver Alert was discontinued for an 85-year-old man who was last seen Monday evening in Dallas. Robert Ervin Walker was last seen at 5 p.m. in a black 2014 Kia Forte with a Texas license plate. Walker is described as 5-foot-10, 160 pounds with gray hair, blue eyes, and has been diagnosed with cognitive impairment. (WFAA)
