Crash Closes Sam Rayburn Tollway In Both Directions
Commuters on US-121 Friday will experience large delays after a crash closed all lanes in both directions.
CARROLTON, TX — Drivers on 121 are sure to experience serious delays during the Friday morning commute. Near the intersection of Huffines/Merchant, a tractor trailer hauling fuel crashed into a sedan and overturned.
As of writing, the tollway remains closed in both directions. KXAS reported the crash occurred when a BMW sedan hit a box truck from behind. The fuel tanker then struck the BMW. The truck's fuel tanker overturned and came to rest in the median.
According to the KXAS report, the driver of the fuel tanker was uninjured. The drivers of the box truck and of the BMW were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
