Dallas Celebrates National Community Development Week

It highlights the impact of federal investments on neighborhoods across the city.

It is National Community Development Week and the City of Dallas is observing the occasion with a series of events, activities, and outreach efforts designed to highlight the benefits the city gets from programs funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Consolidated Plan.

The city put out a press release about the weeklong observance on Monday.

According to the release, residents and local elected officials will have several opportunities throughout the week to learn about how the programs, specifically the Community Development Block Grant and the Home Investment Partnerships Program, are advancing efforts to expand affordable housing, reduce poverty, and strengthen essential public infrastructure.
