Dallas College: Honoring Our Latinx Communities: Hispanic Heritage Month At Dallas College
The observation, which includes lectures, poetry readings and financial advice, kicks off Sept. 15.

(DALLAS) — Whether virtually or in person, Dallas College will showcase and honor the cultural richness of Hispanic and Latinx communities from Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean during Hispanic Heritage Month. This year’s theme is: “Esperanza: A Celebration of Hispanic Heritage and Hope.”

The observation, which includes lectures, poetry readings and financial advice, kicks off Sept. 15.
Hispanic Heritage Month, previously known as Hispanic Heritage Week, was started under President Lyndon Johnson. President Ronald Reagan expanded the observance to cover an entire month that ends on Oct. 15.
