Here are the top three stories in Dallas today:
- According to the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, Texas job growth was above the national average of 4.5 percent. The Federal Reserve Bank attributes this to internal migration within the United States due to the rising cost of living and housing. Officials have cited work-from-home policies allowing individuals to move to areas with lower living costs, like Texas. (KFDX - Texomashomepage.com)
- The BLK Experience Pop-Up Museum is returning to the Urban Arts Center for the second time. The exhibition will be available to the public on Feb. 5 and will run throughout the rest of Black History Month. Iconic images and nostalgic commentary will be showcased on social media and featured at the exhibit. (Northdallasgazette)
- Dallas Builders Association members voiced their frustration at the Jan. 31 Dallas City Hall meeting. The heated discussion was kickstarted from The City of Dallas asking for feedback from stakeholders at the Government Performance and Financial Management Committee meeting. The majority of the complaints were about permits with the City of Dallas that have taken weeks to be approved and have resulted in costing builders thousands in lost earnings. (candysdirt.com)
