Here are the top stories today in Dallas:
- A Dallas man previously arrested in the death of an 81-year-old woman has been charged with killing at least 11 more elderly women whose jewelry and other valuables he stole. 46-year-old Billy Chemirmir was indicted on six additional counts of capital murder in the deaths of women ranging in age from 76 to 94. A Collin County grand jury also returned five capital murder indictments against him. Chemirmir has been in custody since March 2018 in the death of 81-year-old Dallas woman Lu Thi Harris. (KAUZ)
- For the first time in a decade, Dallas is updating its bike plan. The 2022 budget allocates $2 million for Dallas' bike lane program. Some of that money will go toward filling "critical gaps" in the city's 2011 bike plan. The city is also trying to extend the bike network's reach and connect it to more destinations. - A former hotel executive has been reported safe at UT Southwestern Medical Center after going missing in Dallas. (WFAA.com)
- A man in police custody who had escaped concluded a checkup at Parkland Memorial Hospital — and was quickly recaptured by Dallas PD. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)
