Dallas Residents Now Shopping Mattresses in Their Driveway

Mattress shopping now a personalized at-home experience as iSense brings its mobile showroom directly to consumers

For decades, buying a mattress has followed a familiar script. Consumers visit multiple showrooms, spend a few minutes testing different models under bright retail lights, listen to competing sales pitches, and then make a decision about a product they will use every night for years. A Dallas-based pilot program is attempting to change that.

iSense, a company specializing in customizable smart sleep solutions, has launched what it describes as the first mobile mattress showroom of its kind. Instead of requiring consumers to travel to stores, the company is bringing a fully functioning retail experience directly to homeowners throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Consumers can go online and schedule a private appointment online and step inside a mobile showroom parked at their home, where they can explore the company’s mattress lineup, learn about the technology behind the products, and receive one-on-one guidance from trained iSense Sleep Experts.

Dallas-Fort Worth was selected as the pilot market because of its rapid population growth, diverse housing landscape, and strong consumer interest in customized home solutions. As one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the country, it provides an ideal environment for testing this direct-to-consumer concept.

Unlike traditional mattress shopping, which often requires visits to multiple stores and decisions made in unfamiliar settings, the Mobile Showroom brings the experience directly to the consumer. The goal is to make comfort discovery more convenient, accessible, and aligned with how people shop today.

At the center of the experience is iSense’s adjustable hybrid mattress, which the company describes as the world’s first adjustable hybrid mattress. The product features proprietary Comfort Control™ Technology and allows sleepers to customize firmness, pressure relief, and support levels. Dual-sided adjustability means each side of the bed can be tailored independently to individual preferences.

According to iSense founder and CEO Paul Longman, the idea grew out of decades spent in the mattress industry. “This first-of-its-kind mobile mattress showroom brings everything to you,” Longman said. “I’ve spent 37 years in the mattress industry, I’ve grown up in it. I’ve seen the best of the best, and all the different components that make some of the most amazing mattresses.”

“By stepping into that mobile showroom, you get the full, same experience you get with a physical showroom,” he said. “The benefit of being able to do it in this format is that the iSense product is 40 mattresses in one, with dual control on both sides. So essentially, at the touch of a remote, you can firm up, create more pressure relief, you can increase the support level, all at the touch of a button.”

The Mobile Showroom includes full-size mattress displays, demonstration tools, and digital support systems that help consumers identify the sleep solution that best fits their needs.

Another advantage is context. Homeowners can evaluate products in the same environment where they will actually be used, rather than in a retail setting that may feel rushed or disconnected from everyday comfort. The approach reflects a broader shift toward personalized shopping experiences that fit naturally into modern lifestyles.

For now, appointments are available throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Whether the concept reshapes mattress retailing remains to be seen, but it offers a glimpse into a more personalized, technology-driven, and consumer-centric approach to buying better sleep.
