Dallas Schedules Mosquito Control Spraying This Week
Five new pools tested positive for West Nile Virus.
The City of Dallas scheduled mosquito control spraying sessions on Wednesday and Thursday of this week after five new pools tested positive for West Nile Virus.
The city issued two press releases about the mosquito control activities on Tuesday. The spraying will take place on June 17, and June 18, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. each night.
Dallas County Health and Human Services also issued a bulletin to alert the community to five new mosquito sample pools testing positive for West Nile Virus.

The first city press release states that the city will be spraying for mosquito abundance in two areas in District 13. The first area is generally bounded by 4500 College Park; Hockaday Dr. on the north; Midway Rd. on the west; Welch Rd. on the east; and Crooked Ln. on the south.
The second area to be sprayed is generally bounded by 5500 Northaven; Del Roy Dr. on the north; Inwood Rd. on the west; Quincy Ln. on the east; and Springmeadow Dr. on the south.

In a second press release, the city announced it would spray three other areas for West Nile Virus.
The first area in District 11 is generally bounded by the 7100 block of Joyce Way; Stonetrail Dr. on the north; Thackery St. on the west; Glen Albens Circle on the east; and Park Ln. on the south.
The second area is in District 13. It is generally bounded by 4500 College Park; Mendenhall Dr. on the north; Forum Ln. on the west; Strait Ln. on the east; and Irvin Simmons Dr. on the south.
The last area to be sprayed is in District 7. The area is generally bounded by 2700 Lawrence St.; Roberts Ave. on the north; Eugene St. on the west; Vannerson Dr. on the east; and CF Hawn Freeway.
