Dallas School Calendar 2018-19: First Day Of School, Vacations

School starts August 20. That, and other must-know dates for parents, students and teachers.

DALLAS, TX — Students in Dallas ISD are going back to school a little earlier than last year. The first day of school is August 20, one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers.

The Dallas Independent School District has released its 2019-2019 calendar for public schools.
The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

  • 8/9 - 8/17: Teacher Prep Days
  • 8/20: First Day of School

September

  • 9/3: No School (Labor Day)

October

  • 10/19: Secondary Fair Day/Elementary PD Day

November

  • 11/19 - 11/23: No School (Thanksgiving Break)
