The organization, rooted in Dallas for over a decade, has built a reputable legacy in the realm of business development. It offers a plethora of resources to assist entrepreneurs in starting, building, and nurturing their ventures. The smaller enterprises, in particular, have benefitted from the DEC's business incubator at Red Bird for the last five years.
Recognizing the persistent growth and the consequent need for a more spacious workspace, the DEC Network is planning this considerable expansion. This development aligns with the organization's 10th anniversary, which was celebrated on Monday, June 12.

During the celebrations, the DEC Network staff provided exclusive previews of their forthcoming location, which is currently under construction. The new cutting-edge facility will be named the Red Bird Innovation Center, symbolizing the organization's ongoing commitment to bolstering entrepreneurial success within the local community.
Hearns elucidated on the inclusiveness of the new venture, stating, "It's going to be open for everyone. All entrepreneurs. But we want to make sure that our BIPOC and women entrepreneurs get connected. That they build their social capital and they build their financial capital as well."
The organization's brave initiative, represented by a formidable investment of $2.1 million, is a ray of hope for small business owners like Iman and Freddie Harris from the Raisa Agency. They look forward to leveraging the expanded facilities for their business activities.
Raisa Agency, a comprehensive marketing agency, serves a diverse client portfolio, from small businesses to nationwide municipalities. "We're a full-service marketing agency that works with small businesses, to municipalities, nationwide," said Harris.
Harris acknowledged the DEC's significant contribution to their success over their five-year association. "The DEC has offered us so many resources that we probably wouldn't have been able to get in contact with if we weren't with the DEC," Harris remarked.
The planned enlargement of the Red Bird Innovation Center promises to invigorate the Southern Dallas campus, already in the throes of significant development and transformation. "We want people to be able to connect and collaborate," Hearn added.
The project developers anticipate the state-of-the-art Red Bird Innovation Center to be operational by December 2023 or, at the latest, January 2024. This development will undoubtedly mark a new epoch in the evolution of Dallas-based startups and businesses.
