Here are the top stories today in Dallas:
- The families affected by the gas explosion at the Oak Cliff apartment complex on Wednesday received a helping hand from their local community. Impacted residents were able to collect free food and water at Mount Tabor Baptist Church this weekend, and all available supplies were claimed in just a couple of hours. Between the 28 residents of the exploded building and evacuated residents of nearby buildings, hundreds of people have been displaced and will remain in hotels for the time being. (CBS Dallas / Fort Worth)
- Popular Dallas personal trainer John Nance Benton of Flower Mound was arrested and charged with invasive recording this past week. Court records show allegations that Benton, 41, recorded images in a bathroom or changing room last year. He was released from the Denton County jail on a $20,000 bond but immediately announced on Instagram that he was stepping away from his business. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)
- A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash in the 900 block of Morocco Avenue in Dallas this weekend. Police are currently investigating. (FOX 4 Dallas)
- NFL Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith is selling his Winnwood Road, Dallas home for a listing price of $2.2 million, chosen in part for his former Cowboys jersey number, 22. (CW33 NewsFix)
