Dallas, Texas - In response to escalating temperatures, Cedar Ridge Preserve, a popular hiking spot to Dallas' southwest, has decided to temporarily alter its regular operating hours to ensure visitor safety. Traditionally open from sunrise to sundown, the Preserve is implementing an adjustment to its hours to mitigate the effects of the intense heat.

Over the next few days, the park will open its gates at 6:30 a.m. and promptly shut at noon. This change is driven by a relentless heat index, worsened by an Excessive Heat Warning that's predicted to continue till 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

Many regular visitors of the park, having experienced the severe risks of hiking under scorching heat, are in agreement with the park's wise decision.
