Here are the top three stories in Dallas today:

  1. A Dallas County Sheriff's Office supervisor has pleaded guilty to embezzling more than $250,000. Umeka Treymane Myers, 49, allegedly duplicated debit cards from the jail's inmate property fund when an error occurred. She duplicated numerous cards and spent the funds through various different states. She now faces up to 10 years in federal prison for the embezzlement scheme. (CultureMap Dallas)
  2. The Dallas Police Department is asking for the community's help in identifying two thieves. The two individuals reportedly cut a telephone cable from a pole in the 4100 block of Lawnview Avenue on May 13. Anyone with information about the two individuals is directed to contact the department. (Patch)
  3. Carter's Kids teamed up with Chuck E. Cheese to build a new playground at KIPP Destiny Elementary School. The playground will be used by the elementary school's 400 students on W. Camp Wisdom Road. Carter's Kids is a nonprofit that builds and develops playgrounds for underserved communities. (Focusdailynews)
