- Dallas leaders will be reviewing plans to address the emerald ash borer — an invasive beetle. The small green beetle was confirmed in Dallas County last month. This invasive species kills ash trees by eating the trees' water-conducting tissue. Ash trees make up about five percent of the Dallas area's urban forest canopy. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)

- The City of Dallas is appealing a federal judge's ruling that restricts the city's ability to limit operating hours for strip clubs and sexual-oriented businesses. The city wants to restrict these establishments from operating between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. to prevent violent crimes. The federal judge denied the restrictions based on unconstitutionality.
