Here are the top three stories in Dallas today:
- Dallas ash trees are in trouble. An invasive species called the Emerald Ash Borer has been discovered in Dallas County, according to tree experts. The wood-boring beetle poses a serious problem for the city's urban forest canopy. The beetle will kill an unprotected tree within 2-3 years and will decimate entire stands within 10 years. - A Dallas Farmers Market product is now hitting shelves across the nation. ZUBI's dips are created by Sarah Zubiate and are being sold on Sprouts Farmers Market shelves nationally. The delicious dips are based on a 60-year-old family recipe, according to Zubiate. The dips are manufactured at its Athens, Texas facility. (CW33 Dallas)
- Medical City Dallas reports that one of its security guards delivered a baby in an elevator on Mother's Day. Security guard Eli Davila wheeled the expecting mother into the elevator and emerged later toting a newborn. The incredible incident was preserved by the hospital's surveillance cameras.
